Paris Agreement took place in 2015, aiming to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change. Following that, the UK became the world’s first major economy to pass laws to achieve net zero by 2050, publishing its strategy in 2021. The lighting industry needed to actively adopt the net zero targets and CIBSE was one of the first institutions who published relevant documents. TM66 was published in 2021 and focuses on creating a circular economy in the lighting industry. It is an algorithm which quantifies how circular a lighting product actually is.
